On Tuesday 11 June, the “Mauro Perrone” Hotel Institute of Castellaneta, Taranto, will host the conference “Equal Opportunities: What future?”, organized by UIL Taranto in collaboration with the coordination of Equal Opportunities. The event aims to examine the theme of equal opportunities, analyzing the historical contribution and the current commitment, especially among women, towards social emancipation.
The concept of Equal Opportunities is essential to guarantee equal access to rights and resources to all individuals, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, disability or sexual orientation. These principles are fundamental to policies and initiatives that aim to eliminate discrimination and promote equality in work, education and social fields.
The conference program will begin at 9:00, with the moderation of the journalist Antonello Corigliano and the introduction of Pietro Pallini, general coordinator of the UIL of Taranto. Also speaking will be Gianni Ricci, general secretary of UIL Puglia, and Giuseppe Tagliente, general secretary of UIL Scuola Taranto.
The focal point will be the speech by Prof. Ciro De Angelis, who will discuss the history and future prospects of equal opportunities.
Among the speakers are Doriana Calleandro, coordinator of Equal Opportunities UIL Taranto, Daniela Lafratta, lawyer specialized in anti-discrimination law, Annarita Gianniello, regional secretary of UIL Puglia with responsibility for Equal Opportunities, and Lella Ruccia, councilor for Equal Opportunities of the Puglia Region.
The conclusions will be entrusted to Ivana Veronese, UIL national secretary with responsibility for Equal Opportunities, who will outline future initiatives and proposals to strengthen equality in all sectors of society.
