Ferrara In the end we have really reached the last day for registration Spal to the next championship C series. If everything – as assured by president Joe Tacopina through general manager Corrado Di Taranto – goes well, by this evening the club will officially join the ranks of the future Lega Pro. Having reached this point, however, it would be another nice sigh of relief drawn after more than a moment of anxiety. Definitely more complex than the salvation achieved on the field in the last troubled championship.
In the idea of the offices in via Copparo, where the general director also works, there was the desire to close every bureaucratic formality with respect to registration in a different way: certainly not so “last minute”, perhaps not even the day before (as at a certain point it was hypothesized), but more conveniently with a different timing, also to try to put into oblivion under the heading “exceptions not to be replicated” the slip-up of last March linked to the late payment of Irpef and therefore give the environment a signal of greater tranquility with respect to tomorrow.
What specifically are you expecting? “Simply” the accreditation of the last necessary transfer – which would appear to have been made – coming from the United States. In the hope that no bank server, on either side of the ocean, will catch a cold, all that remains is to wait for the accreditation to arrive and be deposited within the day. The other related issues (including salaries) seem to be ok and everything suggests that the official statement from the club could arrive by the evening with the announcement of the successful operation.
The moment of registration – anything but symbolic – is a fundamental basis for what the club will have to do already this week to make up for the time lost from the last season of the championship to Olbia on.
First, the patron Tacopina will really have to close the issue of the sporting director, who with football timing in hand, even takes priority over the latest rumors that have come out about the other director, the general one, who would like him to leave for Cesena.
The very first row always hosts Alex Casella from the Pro Vercellinumber one favorite to sit on one of the “GB Fabbri” desks, but not yet definitively closed.
At this moment for Giuseppe Magalini there is always the door open from Pisa, the interest of another cadet club, while there don’t seem to be any real conditions for renewal in Catanzaro, as rumored from Calabria. The fact is that the first desired profile appears very far from Ferrara.
Registration and closure of the sports director must necessarily be the topics (at least) to be closed within this week. At the end of the next one, however, President Tacopina is expected to arrive in the city and there two other small questions of equally important importance will have to be dealt with looking each other in the eye for the good of Spal.
Mister Di Carlo awaits the contract extension, which however will also involve the final drafting of a project deemed suitable by the coach himself. In short, the mutual wishes at the end of the season are there and have been revealed on several occasions, but now that the coming year must be planned with cardinal points, translated into names and missions from the transfer market.
The New York lawyer will then have to sit down with his general manager, as mentioned, courted by Cesena in Serie B. Even in this case it would not be so much the category of difference that would make inroads into the discussions, but the various conditions linked to projects and growth opportunities. Di Taranto, who arrived last July from Trento, still has a further year of contact with the Estense club (2025) and in all respects represents the corporate reference figure in the daily operations of via Copparo, but his position could be the last screened for the emergencies listed above.
