(AGENPARL) – Tue 04 June 2024 JOINT PRESS RELEASE Langhirano: Confesercenti Parma, CNA Parma and Confartigianato Imprese Parma
meet the mayoral candidates
Parma, 4 June 2024 – In Langhirano, inside a very crowded Library Hall and with a very attentive and participatory audience, the meeting between the trade, craft and tourism associations – Confesercenti Parma took place last Friday , CNA Parma and Confartigianato Imprese Parma – and the two candidates for mayor of the city, Giordano Bricoli (Langhirano Civica, outgoing mayor) and Federica Di Martino (Vivere Langhirano).
Moderated by Alberto Rugolotto, journalist from 12TVParma, the appointment was an opportunity to present the programs of the two contenders and discuss the many topics of interest proposed by the representatives of the three associations present: environment and birth of CERs, surveillance of swine fever , development of food and wine and cultural tourism, urban regeneration, production and PUG settlements, procurement regulations, investments for the historic center and trade hubs, local taxation and business incentives.
The two candidates demonstrated strong attention to the local production system and responded precisely to the questions set out on the points of the unitary document for businesses and trade signed by the associations, which was delivered to them at the beginning of the evening.
Numerous clarifications were also dedicated to the new projects for the enhancement of tourism proposed and implemented by both candidates. “The theme of tourism is part of the cornerstones of our program – explains Federica Di Martino –, with a view to promoting sustainable tourism. The Via di Linari, for example, is a project born in 2016 and today is included in the regional routes, but it is necessary to develop widespread visibility and tourist reception, which goes to redevelop the historic villages, and promote it by connecting and international circuits, to propose it as an alternative to the better-known Via Francigena”. “Langhirano is, and can increasingly be, the protagonist of tourism combined with culture – continues Giordano Bricoli – our territory counts on fundamental attractors such as the Torrechiara Castle, the Benedictine Abbey, the Art Path, which connects Langhirano with Torrechiara, or even the Via Lombarda. There are all the conditions and infrastructures to continue to do very well.”
Connecting again to the theme of sustainability, Federica Di Martino highlighted how much the Vivere Langhirano program focuses on urban regeneration and the redevelopment of disused buildings, prompting the immediate response of the outgoing mayor Bricoli who recalled how a regeneration process is already implemented for years, with directives absolutely in line with what was also requested in the document presented by the Associations.
There was, therefore, no shortage of final thrusts between the candidates, especially on the subject of local taxation, technical deficits and business investments, to underline the importance of the meeting and discussion between the parties.
