“Solidarity art”, 26 works by local artists on display in Trani – TraniLive.it

“Girl with Hat”, “Maternity denied in war”, “Scent of roses”, “Trani in fiore”. These are just some of the 26 pictorial, sculptural and photographic works produced by local artists who will be the protagonists of “Solidarity Art”the first edition of an exhibition with fundraising auction promoted byHorizons Associationin the field for over 16 years to combat food and health poverty, and the “L’Ebanista” Association of Trani: an original formula in which pictorial, sculptural and photographic works by local artists will be concretely transformed into real food for needy families.

The event, scheduled for 6, 7 and 8 June at the Ronchi Hall of the “Giovanni Bovio” Library of Trani, is the result of collaboration with the Trani-Bisceglie Planning Office of the Department for the Third Sector and the Municipality of Trani.

The works donated by the authors will be exhibited to the public through an exhibition followed by a solidarity auction (which will take place from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm on June 8th): the proceeds paid by the winning bidders will go to the Orizzonti Association to support families living in poverty with basic food supplies.

The evocative setting of one of the most beautiful cultural containers in the City of Trani will host an artistic event also designed for the promotion of local authors united in a solidarity drive towards vulnerable people. The exhibition and the final auction of the paintings, sculptures and photographic works donated by the authors will support a very high moral aim which, with the fundraising, constitutes a sign of attention towards the poor of the city.

«This demonstration – explains the president of the Orizzonti Association Angelo Guarrielloit is the beginning of a traveling project that underlines the meaning of the union between art and solidarity. Art has always been an expression of the soul and painting is one of the major modes of expression and representation of spiritual contents. With our project the artistic soul and the supportive soul meet in a profound bond that builds bridges of love and opens doors to the culture of giving”.

Auctioneer of the solidarity auction will be Antonio Ladoganaa name known and appreciated in the cultural and artistic panorama, constantly committed to the promotion of art through its Michelangiolo Art Center (founded in 1969 by his father Michele), located in Trani, where works and art exhibitions have been exhibited art by artists such as Annigoni, C. Levi, Vespignani, Gentilini, Pistolesi, Scazzosi, Attardi, Cantatore, Addamiano, De Nittis, Piranesi, S. Rosa, Galardini, Quintavalla but also foreign artists such as Tolouse-Lautrec, Daumier and Les Disperates by Goya.

«We would like to thank Antonio – He adds Giuseppe Laurarapresident of the L’Ebanista Association – for donating two out-of-catalogue works to our initiative, which will further embellish this first edition of Solidarity Art. It is important to support artists who are committed to solidarity and enhance theirs contribution to building a better world”.
