The official presentation of the thriller/horror medium-length film Violetta Resti lasting approximately 45 minutes will be held on Thursday 13 June at 9pm at the Teatro dei Casino in Sanremo. The event is part of the cultural events of the Sanremo Casino and is organized by Zuccherarte Ponente with the collaboration of the Sanremo UNESCO Club.

The film is produced by the Ponente delegation of the Zuccherarte association and directed by the Sanremo director Riccardo Di Gerlando who, together with his brother Marco, has made many short films over the years that have won national and international awards with the Sanremo Cinema association.

Violetta Resti – the plot:

Mario Drool is a writer of horror books for children. To find the tranquility necessary to write the new novel, he goes to a remote village in the Ligurian hinterland. Due to his allergic asthma he is forced to refuse the bunches of violets that the villagers offer to the new arrivals. This gesture immediately makes him unlikable in everyone’s eyes….
The medium-length film has a clear inspiration from Avati’s works and strong references to the Sanremo director Mario Bava, active in the 1950s
and still considered a master of Italian horror cinema and crime thrillers
The novel The Little Girl of the Violets was also based on the medium-length film, also written by the writer Roberto Ricci with Di Gerlando.
At the evening, the technical and artistic cast of the film will be presented and interesting background information regarding the making of the film will be explained as well as notes on genre cinema by the writer Ricci.
The film, made by local crew and actors, has already obtained numerous international awards in just a few months at industry festivals in the horror thriller genre. The film boasts the precious collaboration with the musician Christian Vinciguerra who composed the original soundtracks.

Some members of the UNESCO Sanremo club will also participate in the event.

Entrance is free while seats last.
