This was the case – as reported, also on the front page, by the newspaper “The city” on newsstands today family of tourists foreigners almost disorientated by the Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
They would like to do shoppingto bring home a memory of your stay in Salerno, but the mission it’s almost impossiblebecause on Sundays the shops are (almost) all closed, particularly on the day of Republic Day. It is the paradox, entirely Salerno, of a city that is increasingly becoming a tourist destination but which does not yet seem to have developed its culture of hospitality.
The tourism policy implemented by the municipal administration has not so far been followed by a change of pace and, above all, of mentality.
So it happens that people who disembark in the city from cruise ships or who reach Salerno even for a simple walk find the shops closed on public holidays. The only ones to guarantee opening are the big brands or bars and restaurants.
