The Region releases 274 million euros for the Brescia Civil Service

Brescia. The Lombardy Region has approved two important measures in the Council, proposed by the Councilor for Welfare, Guido Bertolaso, aimed at strengthening the infrastructure and technology of the healthcare system.
With the first resolution they come regional resources of 128.2 million have been allocated to the Lombardy Ats and Assts for equipment and environmental adjustments and remediation.
The second measure, of 1.141 billion euros, provides for the distribution of national funds across 9 projects for the construction or renovation of strategic hospital facilities. These are resources of article 20 of National Law 67/88 dedicated to this type of intervention and also affect the Civil Hospital of Brescia, for which resources amounting to 274 million euros were released.
The Lombard Welfare Councilor explained: «We allocate the national funds already foreseen in relation to article 20, realigning and specifying the interventions in order to accelerate the implementation process and therefore their timely and prompt implementation. These are strategic projects with which we intend to proceed in the next three years in the Lombardy region.”

The 128.2 million euros allocated by the Lombardy Region are divided as follows: 40 million for maintenance interventions on systems, structures and equipment for the year 2024, 77 million for the purchase of new low and medium technology equipment, replacing those currently present whose performance is no longer optimal due to age, obsolescence, recurring maintenance interventions and irreparability. This intervention aims to improve the efficiency of healthcare facilities, reduce waiting lists and increase the safety of patients and operators.
In the end, 11.2 million euros for expansion, renovation and asbestos removal works in the San Gerardo di Monza garrisons (6.9 million), of the hospital of Adda revolt (2.3 million) and for the adaptation of the operating block of Cernusco sul Naviglio (1.9 million).

The second resolution provides for the implementation of projects (for a total amount of 1.141 billion euros, funds provided for by art. 20 of Law 67/88) which, specifically, concern: the construction of the new hospital in Busto Arsizio-Gallarate (440 million euros); the redevelopment of the Civil Hospitals of Brescia (274 million euros); the reorganization and reorganization of the San Matteo di Pavia, cardio-thoracic-vascular and emergency-urgency center and research center (154 million euros); the expansion of the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo with the construction of the VIII tower for daytime activities (100 million euros); the expansion and renovation of the Sondrio hospital of the ASST Valtellina and Alto Lario (70 million euros); the demolition, reclamation and regeneration of the areas currently occupied by the Cremona hospital block (30 million euros).

The 247 million allocated to the Brescia hospital are part of the 497 “promised” for years.
The Valcamonica Asst is the recipient of resources for 24 million euros for the construction of a new operating block and an emergency-urgency pavilion at the Esine hospital.
Around 40 million will finance plant maintenance interventions,
structures and equipment for the current year and, of these, 1.25 million euros are for the Civil and over 1.2 million (1,283 million euros) for the Garda Asst. Finally, resources amounting to 100 thousand euros are allocated to Ats Brescia.
