After two years the long-awaited return to Longiano Cherry Festival. The 25th edition of the event, organized by the Pro Loco of Longiano APS in collaboration with the municipal administration, will take place in the Longiano village on 7, 8, 9 June. Three days in which the town will be animated by the stalls of the festival market (hobbies, gastronomy, fruit and vegetables and beverages) and in particular by those dedicated to cherries. There will be no shortage of shows that will involve and entertain participants both during the day and in the evening with live music. There will be a food stand organized by the Pro Loco of Longiano.
On the first day, Friday 7 June, the event will open at 6pm with stalls and stands along the streets of the village, at 7pm the food stand will be active and at 9pm the show is scheduled by “Eleonora Paroli” which will bring Italian and foreign contemporary music to the stage of the festival until late in the evening.
The second day, Saturday 8 June, will open at 2pm with stalls, a fruit and vegetable market and stands along the streets of the village. At 7.00 pm opening of the gastronomic stand organized by the Pro Loco of Longiano. In the evening at 9pm the “Moka Club” band will perform and will make the audience dance and sing with the great musical hits of the 80s, 90s and 2000s.
On the last day, Sunday 9 June, the market will be open from 10 in the morning, at 10.30 the “Walk in the Cherry Valley” is scheduled by the Pro Loco of Longiano in collaboration with the Longiano Cammina association. At 12 all participants in the walk will be offered a small cherry aperitif. It will also be possible to have lunch at the food stand. At 2.30 pm the “Palio della Ciliegia” will begin with the four teams from the neighboring hamlets and municipalities who will compete in skill tests and picturesque games that will always have the cherry as the protagonist. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 7pm. At the end of the event, the show by the Tribute Bande “Ligaband” will be held from 9pm until late in the evening.
For the entire duration of the event, the Longiano APS Pro Loco will provide a parking area approximately 700 meters from the centre. “We are very happy with this initiative and grateful to the Pro Loco who with commitment promoted the return of the Cherry Festival – declare the Mayor of Longiano Mauro Graziano and the Councilor for Culture Sonia Bettucci -. This is an event very dear to the whole area and which somehow marks the beginning of the great season of summer events in Longiano which this year too promises to be interesting and full of proposals”.
