Ribera: The “Toscanini” Conservatory conquers Agrigento at the Pirandello theater for the Republic Day

For the Republic Day with the Italian Opera, the Arturo Toscanini Conservatory of Music conquers the public of Agrigento with a standing ovation at the Pirandello Theater with which it seals a historic agreement for the first Concert Season “The Conservatory at the Theatre” 2024/25.

The success was achieved on Sunday at the conclusion of the Republic Day excellently organized by the prefecture of Agrigento. The concert, expressly requested by prefect Dr. Filippo Romano for the Gala Evening, staged under the artistic direction of prof. Mariangela Longo and the supervision of the production director prof. Simone Piraino, brought Italian Opera, a UNESCO heritage site, back to the Pirandello Theater and saw young and talented students, both Italian and international, as protagonists, who, assisted by the teachers, made themselves appreciated as soloists and musicians of the Orchestra of the Arturo Toscanini State Music Conservatory of Ribera, masterfully directed by Maestro Alberto Maniaci.

To all the musicians of the Conservatory and in particular to the Italian, Asian and Egyptian opera singers, trained by the teachers M° Filippo Adami and M° Giuseppe Garra, the theater audience gave thunderous applause and a final standing ovation with a request for an encore. In the presence of the prefect and the mayor of Agrigento and such a prestigious audience, the president of the Pirandello Theater Foundation, lawyer. Alessandro Patti and the director of the Conservatory Arturo Toscanini prof. Riccardo Ferrara announced the agreement which for the first time formally seals the collaboration already underway for years between the two institutions, thanks to a valuable piano from the Conservatory already allocated to the Pirandello. In fact, the first concert season “Il Conservatorio a Teatro” will begin, starting from the month of October and in the year of Agrigento Capital of Culture 2025.
