A press conference to present the third national congress on the “Management of trauma of surgical interest” was held this morning in the Garsia room of the Cefpas in Caltanissetta. The important appointment represents one of the moments of highest value in the field of training.
At the center of the two-day event is “The young surgeon’s approach to the trauma event”: the protagonists will therefore be those under 35 and general surgery residents, but the congress foresees a wider audience thanks to the participation of anesthetists, nurses, obstetricians and psychologists.

The two days are dedicated to the nursing session with inserts from doctors and psychologists on 8 June and to the medical session with the opinions of nurses on 9 June; a kind of do ut des multidisciplinary.
At the table the director of Cafpas, Roberto Sanfilippo; the extraordinary commissioner of the Asp 2 of Caltanissetta, Salvatore Ficarra; the presidents Giovanni Di Lorenzo, medical director of general surgery and head of the departmental operational unit (Uod) with corporate value “Coordination of operating rooms” of the Sant’Elia hospital unit – Asp2 Caltanissetta and Giovanni Ciaccio (honorary president), director of the complex operational unit (Uoc ) General surgery of the Sant’Elia hospital – Asp2 Caltanissetta.
The congress is sponsored by the Sicilian Region, Department of Health; Municipality of Caltanissetta, Asp 2 Caltanissetta, Italian Association of Operating Room Nurses (Aico), Surgical training academic forum (Staff), Association of Italian hospital surgeons (Acoi).
