CAMPOBASSO – Last week of the election campaign. The centre-right candidate Aldo Benedittis raises the tone of his proverbial moderation evidently responding to his opponents and says “After ten years of decline, Campobasso can and must turn the page” and then turning to his opponents he comments “Whoever created the problem cannot offer solutions and today he even denies it. Enough populism, we need a return to credible and serious politics.”

“I hope that the last week of the electoral campaign can be increasingly focused on political and administrative content, in order to help citizens evaluate ideas and programs and consciously make the choice they deem best and most suitable for the needs of the capital”.

“The center-right’s proposal – he explains – is clear: to help Campobasso emerge from a decadent phase, in which the city has objectively lost appeal, dealing with depopulation and economic crisis. After five years of center-left and another five of Grillism, to reverse the trend we need to change steps politically. Today these two realities have even joined forces, but they certainly cannot solve a problem that they themselves have created and which they now even deny, just as the solution cannot be entrusted to those who (out of time) resort to the now worn out and outdated populism of the lone man in command and the anti-politics of saying no to parties, without presenting a true and structural project for this community”.

“We – concludes Aldo De Benedittis – are a real team, six political movements of national caliber with candidates of all backgrounds and ages strongly linked to the territory. A concentration of energy, competence and enthusiasm, a cohesive group of people ready to fight to make Campobasso great again and put it back in its place: in the center of Molise, closer to Europe, more modern, lively, competitive”.
