There are hours of apprehension for the Trentino mountaineering community. In fact, there has been no news since yesterday morning Tomas Franchini, mountaineer, mountain guide and ski instructor Madonna di Campiglio. It appears that a snow cornice gave way while the two climbers were climbing to altitude.

Franchini was engaged, together with a Bolivian mountaineer, in an ascent in the Andean cordillera, near the city of Huaraz, in northern Peru, in an isolated and particularly inaccessible area.

From initial information, it appears that searches have been started by one local rescue team.
