from the Ministry of Finance a further 9 million euros for Barletta and nothing for Andria

from the Ministry of Finance a further 9 million euros for Barletta and nothing for Andria
«Recently the President of the Puglia Region Emiliano, also Regional Health Councilor, came to Andria, with many others, to support Decaro’s candidacy for the European elections. All legitimate, God forbid, but we cannot help but notice that, when it came to intervening in the various municipal councils for the new hospital in Andria and therefore for the long waits for a visit or an exam, the President of the Region (and not only He) had other things to do. We have the clear feeling that when we have to ask for votes we always find the time to come to Andria, then when we have to face the enormous problem of the health of the people of Andria, we don’t find the time to come. We leave the relevant considerations to the citizens/voters. How do we leave to the aforementioned citizens/voters the comment on further downsizing, for a change, for Bonomo’s radiology, recently reported by a union. Again for interventional radiology, since 2018 the Region has assigned n. 4 beds in the Bonomo. Has anyone seen them?
It’s the same old story, but it doesn’t end here!
The Ministry of Finance has given the green light to finance a series of healthcare facilities (Bari, Cerignola, San Severo, Gallipoli, Castellaneta etc. etc.). He also allocated 84.5 million euros for the new hospital in Monopoli-Fasano. We are happy for them. Finally, it allocated another 8.9 million euros for the redevelopment and strengthening of the Barletta hospital, while 0 euros for both the new hospital in Andria and the Bonomo. This, after the financing of 22 million euros to build a station at the Barletta hospital. Without prejudice to the quality of the work, sooner or later someone will explain to us whether a railway station is more important for a hospital or a new hospital that also allows us to treat patients from our territory who are currently forced to go outside the province.
All of this leaves us astounded!
We have repeatedly requested, together with our own, the resignation in protest of the mayor and the regional councilor of Andria. We don’t know what else they have to do against the City of Andria and against the people of Andria to make local politics decide that the measure is full. But faced with the decision of the Ministry of Finance, we believe that our parliamentarian must also take public positions, if necessary, against her own political party, as we have sometimes done, if there continue to be negative political attitudes towards our City”.

The note from the municipal councilors of Andria Nicola Civita, Doriana Faraone and Pietro Di Pilato.
