MOLFETTA – The Levante neighborhood is preparing to celebrate the feast of the Madonna della Pace, titular of the homonymous parish of Molfetta, on June 7th.
The parish community is preparing with the novena for this anniversary, which is celebrated every year on the day of the Dedication of the Church, which took place on 7 June 1998.
Furthermore, on 6 June there will be a concert in honor of the Madonna della Pace performed by the MusicaInsieme Orchestra and the Note di Puglia Social Promotion Association, which will see the participation of mezzo-soprano Marian Candirri. Maestro Benedetto Grillo conducts.
Pieces by Caccini, Mascagni, Franck, Rota and Morricone will be performed.
The MusicaInsieme orchestra of Molfetta, made up of instrument students from the MusicaInsieme Association and students from other institutions, was born inspired by the Suzuki Method which allows children, from the first years of life, to learn a musical instrument and to learn about the experience of the Orchestra right from the start. Winner of numerous musical competitions, the MusicaInsieme Orchestra is a guest of important festivals and public and private bodies accredited by the Puglia Region, the MIUR and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
The social promotion association “Note di Puglia” presents itself as a meeting point and exchange of experiences for all those who wish to increase the development of ideas and discussion between artists and the territory. The ensemble, whose aim is to promote and raise awareness of the vast repertoire that ranges from the string quartet to the chamber orchestra, is made up of professionals in the sector eager to offer a cultural and artistic project to a vast and varied audience continuously new and current in themes and contents. The musical activity of the association includes a chamber orchestra made up entirely of Apulian women animated by talent, passion and the desire to offer a contribution and an example in the name of gender equality and which, gathering the experience of previous orchestral formations, brings together some among the best musicians of the Provinces of Bari and BAT.
On Friday 7 June, Feast of the Madonna della Pace, a mass will be celebrated in the neighbourhood, in via Di Vagno, followed by the torchlight procession with the icon (made 25 years ago by the master Matteo Mangano) to the parish, where there will be the act of entrustment to the Madonna with the bishop Mons. Domenico Cornacchia.
