A pleasant guided walk through the lively and colorful streets of the historic center in search of anecdotes and tradition, with the discovery of the splendid Malatestiana Library, a true time machine capable of taking visitors back to 1454. The DMC – Destination Management Company of the Savio Routes , as part of the tourist proposals for the Valley, launches a new initiative for the summer which starts on Wednesday 5 June: a guided tour of the historic centre, together with an expert guide, who will explore very characteristic views of the city and hidden treasure chests of art, such as the splendid Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista, rich in masterpieces of art and faith such as the Chapel of the Madonna del Popolo.

This is followed by a dive into the past, through an unforgettable visit to the Malatestiana Library: a splendid and rare example of a humanistic-conventual library, still perfectly preserved, due to its charm and extraordinary relevance, it was included in 2005, the only one in the whole of Emilia-Romagna, in the UNESCO “Memory of the World” register. After visiting the Library, in the suggestive Piazza del Popolo and in the surrounding streets, a free tour among the numerous stalls of the street market, one of the largest in Romagna, is a must. A nice opportunity to purchase a unique souvenir of the Malatesta city!

The departure is at 10:00 in the morning, at the IAT Tourist Office in Cesena, Piazza del Popolo 9; the duration of the visit is approximately two hours. The requested contribution is 15 euros per person, including entry and visit to the Malatestiana Library. Online booking required at bit.ly/cesenatour2024

For information, contact the Cesena IAT office on 0547 356327 (from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00 and, in the afternoon, from 15:00 to 18:00; Sunday from 9:00 to 13:00 ).
