«It is a monument that must be experienced – declares Federico Soro, director of the Academy’s Sculpture school and coordinator of the work – you must enter between the panels and discover the two figures that are at the top, shiny, as if to signify a sign of hope”.

Four teachers, twelve students who participated in the project, also present at the ceremony which was attended not only by the highest civil, military and religious authorities, but also by the students of the Margherita di Castelvì high school and the San Giuseppe Comprehensive Institute.

«In Sassari my father – declares Mario Segni, former deputy and MEP – gave the pride of being a city of great cultural and political level. He was in love with Sassari and Sardinia and throughout his public life this island was at the top.”

Even the outgoing mayor of the Turritan capital Nanni Campus wanted to remember the gratitude for two figures of the value of Segni and Cossiga, born in a city that is the only one in Italy to have given birth to two presidents of the Republic.
