Real Cesarea di Casalnuovo is Italian U13 champion, among the winners is also a young man from Marano

Real Casarea, the youth team of Casalnuovo di Napoli, triumphed in the quadrangular final of the ‘Under 13 Fair Play Elite’ Debutants, which was played at the CONI center in Tirrenia, thus becoming Italian U13 Champion. Also participating together with the Neapolitan team were Varesina, Accademia Frosinone and Tau Altopascio.

Among the young Italian champions of Real Cesarea there is also Marano Pasquale Baiano (pictured with the cup), student of the Socrate School.

Below is the article that appeared on the FIGC website

“First of all, it should be underlined that all the matches played, during an intense and exciting morning, were lived under the banner of Fair Play, just as the name of the category that belongs to the FIGC Youth School Sector states. In fact, on all fields there was an atmosphere of great fairness and mutual respect.

The 4 finalists faced each other using the round-robin format, giving rise – at the same time – to ‘9 against 9’ and ‘7 against 7’ matches. All matches were divided into 3 halves of 10 minutes each, which constituted ‘mini-matches’ to be counted individually (to view all the details of the regulations you can click here).

We started at 9.30 and – a sign of fate – the first ever goal was scored by Real Casarea against Accademia Frosinone (in the 7 against 7 format). And the Campania team then won the national title. “For all of us it is an enormous satisfaction – coach Antonio Furino told us – which crowns a long and difficult, but very rewarding journey. Our club is a very important reality in youth football, and in fact already in 2021 we had graduated as national champions.”

It must be said that most of the matches played were balanced, but Real Casarea’s success – numbers in hand – was clear, given that in the overall scores of the final group there were three victories out of three . The decisive one occurred in the third and final ‘day’ of the group, when the yellow and blue from the province of Naples faced second-placed Varesina.

Success in the direct comparison decreed the final verdict. “I told the boys that they gave their all on the pitch – declared Simone Simionato, the Varesina coach – and in any case for all of us being here in Tirrenia was a unique emotion. We hope to be able to return in the next few years.”

A hope also shared by Maurizio Penna, coach of the Frosinone Academy: “We are satisfied with what we experienced in this final, but I am convinced that we could also have done something more. Perhaps we lacked that pinch of sporting ‘evil’ that is needed to win on these occasions. An experience that will serve us well in the future.”

“The first objective was to fully enjoy the final quadrangular that we achieved – underlined Alessio Michelini, coach of Tau Altopascio – and for the boys it was especially nice to be all together, to prepare for such an important event as they do the ‘big’ teams. The result of the pitch could have been better, but we are still very happy.”

At the end of the morning, the awards ceremony with all 4 teams parading amidst the applause of their teammates and opponents, and of the large audience who followed the entire event from the sidelines with passion and great sportsmanship.
