PORTO RECANATI – As part of a broader and more specific plan of interventions, prepared by the Provincial Command of Macerata on the entire territory of Macerata and aimed at the prevention and repression of illicit trafficking, with particular regard to the sector of counterfeiting, commercial illegality and of product safety, the soldiers of the Porto Recanati Tenenza conducted a new service operation to combat the trade of products that are unsafe for public health.

On the occasion of the weekly market in Porto Recanati, the Financiers turned their attention mainly to verifying the correct fulfillment of the requirements imposed by the “Consumer Code” regarding the minimum information to be indicated on the goods displayed for sale to ensure careful and informed purchasing choice by the consumer.

Specifically, the check made it possible to identify at a trader no. 1,267 items, consisting of metal buckles and leather strips to be used for the composition of belts, all found to lack warnings in Italian and the minimum information on the composition of the products required by the “Consumer Code”.

This latest regulatory provision establishes, in fact, that products marketed on the national territory must at least contain indications relating to the legal or product name of the product, the identity of the producer, the possible presence of substances capable of causing potential harm to the consumer. , as well as the materials used and processing methods, all in Italian, for the purpose of using the purchased product in complete safety.

Due to the irregularities noted, the Financiers subjected the goods offered for sale to administrative seizure and reported the trader to the competent Chamber of Commerce, for the imposition of the expected administrative sanctions.

The service operation is part of a broader control device to protect the legal economy aimed at combating the spread of products that do not comply with safety standards, helping to guarantee effective consumer protection and a competitive market, where honest economic operators can benefit from fair conditions of competition.
