TOscoli Satriano (FG) is mourning the tragic loss of Davide Michelino Moccia, emergency room nurse in Modena, who died at the age of 59 in a road accident which occurred on 30 May in Sasso Marconi, in the Bologna area. In the same way, San Marco in Lamis (FG) is mourning the sudden loss, after a short illness, of Franco Tenace, 54 years old. Both worked in emergencies. The first was registered with the Modena OPI, the second with the Dauna OPI.
Moccia, driving his Citroen C4 Picasso, lost control of the vehicle, ending up against the guardrail and then against a Suzuki Vitara coming in the opposite direction. The accident also caused serious injuries to one of his 8-year-old sons, who is now hospitalized in serious conditions at the Maggiore hospital in Bologna.
The tragic event profoundly shook the community and colleagues of Moccia, who had been an esteemed and active member of the Modena Emergency Department for years. Doctor Orsi, coordinator of the PS, expressed the pain and condolences of the department, already recently affected by the death of Franco Tenace, another nurse from 118, who died at the age of 54 after a short illness.
The funeral of Davide Michelino Moccia will be held on Tuesday 4 June at the Cathedral of Ascoli Satriano at 4pm. The body is currently in the morgue of the Maggiore hospital in Bologna. Meanwhile, colleagues and friends gathered for a moment of reflection in honor of Moccia, remembered as a fundamental figure in their team.
The community continues to mourn these devastating losses, commemorating the dedication and service of the departed nurses, whose commitment left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
