The summer season of the Caprilli racecourse will begin on June 5th. Within this week the Municipality of Livorno is expected to publish the tender for the public-private partnership which will assign the management of the facility for the next 20 years.

Within this week the Municipality of Livorno will publish the tender for the public-private partnership that will assign the management of the Caprilli racecourse for the next 20 years.
Meanwhile the current manager, Horse System, announces the start of the horse racing season, set for Wednesday 5 June at 7.45pmthe only pre-evening event of the season.
“This will be the fourth year of management of the Labronico racecourse by this company which, unfortunately, is forced to operate still under extension awaiting the publication by the Municipality of Livorno of the tender for the public-private partnership”, reads the press release issued by the manager. “Despite the difficulties that this situation entails, Sistema Cavallo has done everything possible, and even more, to best accommodate the public of enthusiasts, many of whom are young and very young, who significantly lower the average age of the visitors of Italian racetracks . This year too the lighting system will be temporary, with the rental of 57 light towers which will be operational from the opening night. The starting time of the night races (which officially start on June 6 according to the Ministry of Agriculture calendar) this year will be at 8.45pm or 9.20pm, depending on whether there are 6 or 5 scheduled trips to allow those who want to spend the day at the seaside to participate right from the start of the conference. The days assigned by Masaf for the whole of 2024 are 25 (of which 18 in summer and 7 in autumn) and will dispense a total prize pool of 812,500 euros, with an average of 32,500 euros/day, unfortunately decreasing compared to that of 2023″.
Returning to the announcement, as will be remembered last April the Livorno city council approved the “Proposal for a public-private partnership relating to the concession of the management of the Livorno racecourse called ‘Federico Caprilli’ – Inclusion of the project in the organisation’s programming tools” presented by Sistema Cavallo, which involves an investment of 7 million and a duration of 20 years, and is preparatory to the publication of the tender, in which obviously all interested parties can participate.
