Fraudulent theft to the payment of taxes: it is one of the charges for which, according to what is reported Republicthe prosecutor’s offices of Asti and Turin are investigating Marco Allegretti, candidate for regional councilor in Piedmont with the 5 Star Movement. The investigation arises from checks byRevenue Agency according to which some companies linked to Allegretti, electronic engineer, researcher at the Polytechnic of Turin and president of the Order of Engineers of Asti, would have attempted to hide some properties to avoid a procedure of collection and operated a scam on tax credits for research and development activities.

Drawing from the degree theses of students at the Polytechnic of Turin and from university projects sold in “packages” to companies, 50% deductions were obtained and partially transferred. In this case, the crimes of issuing and using invoices for non-existent operations and undue compensation are contested for various reasons. There are around ten companies involved in the mechanism for creating deductions, linked to “allegedly executed” projects, including one spin off of the Polytechnic.

At the beginning of 2023 Allegretti was removed from the board of directors of the regional finance company Finpiemonte for alleged “violations of the code of ethics” related to conflicts of interest, given his and his father’s shareholdings in various companies. The 5 Star Movement had spoken of a political move and asked for a fact-finding investigation into the disbursements made by Finpiemonte.
