BARLETTA – The national phase of US Città di Fasano by Juniores ends in the round of 16. Coach Vito Costantini’s boys set the pace on the pitch of the “Puttilli” stadium against Barletta 1922 (2-0) who confirm themselves among the teams to beat in this final phase of the category discipline. A goal in each half, both in full injury time, broke the balance between two teams with coach Christian Carbone’s red and whites starting as the underdogs and being able to play in a single match on their own pitch, considering that if a draw had emerged in the at the end of regulation time we would have gone straight to penalties. A defeat that does not cancel the excellent season of the white and blue Juniors who will certainly lay the foundations for the construction of a competitive squad for the first team.
In the match there was a good approach which put the game of the red and whites into difficulty as they entered the match with a streak of 13 victories in a row and in the last 5 matches they have not conceded a goal. The match broke the deadlock at the end of time with a perfect free kick from Di Benedetto which pierced the barrier and ended up behind Randino. In the second half the Biancazzurri were unbalanced forward in search of an equalizer, but right in the middle of injury time the counterattack arrived which found Pino as the scorer for the most classic of results. The red and whites continue their adventure in the quarter-finals, where they will most likely meet Cavese 1919, which emerged victorious in the home match against Paganese calcio 1926 (1-0), while for the white and blues it is time to take stock, certainly positive ones, after a 10 month journey together.
