Regarding the recent and useless controversies raised by the centre-left majority on the proposals, requests and declarations of the municipal councilor Onofrio Altamura (Common Pact), supported and shared by fellow councilors Domenico Damascelli, Francesco Toscano, Carmela Rossiello and Ivan Lorusso (FdI) in this regard to the bad conditions of Via Gen. Dalla Chiesa and the parking spaces reserved for waiting women, some clarifications are necessary.
In our statement relating to the terrible situation of the road surface of Via Generale Dalla Chiesa, it is reported verbatim: “This puts both pedestrian and vehicular traffic at risk and causes serious infiltrations in the underground rooms of the buildings that stand on that portion of the road”. As can be seen, the issue relating to pedestrian safety and traffic is addressed first, but some of the majority seem to be distracted and have not noticed.
Furthermore, in their response, they state that the roadway falls on parcels not yet owned by the Municipality. This is a problem that occurs in many areas of the city, but, in fact, it is only a purely bureaucratic aspect, because it is a road regularly, and always, open to public transit, where public lighting poles are installed , in whose subsoil there are underground services and which has already been asphalted by the Municipality previously. So, just a question of goat’s wool, an alibi for doing nothing. Therefore, the Municipality proceeds with the acquisition of those parcels, improperly not yet included in the municipal heritage and intervenes to resolve the problem.
As for the methods of political communication and the alleged emphases, everyone operates as they see fit. There are those who emphasize themselves with selfies and those who, instead, focus on the city’s problems, also through the press, which play a fundamental public role for the city.
Even the response to the note on pink parking, reserved for pregnant women and families with children up to two years of age, had only a proactive and informative purpose for the population, but a centre-left political group, headed by the councilor Bonasia produced a violent and aggressive reply (which no one requested), using very disorganized terms which, for the sake of decency, we avoid repeating. And thank goodness we approved the non-hostile communication manifesto in the city council…
Let’s just hope that this measure is not pure hypocrisy.
Councilor Altamura made a proposal, shared and supported by colleagues Damascelli, Toscano, Rossiello and Lorusso, which has the sole objective of guaranteeing the safety of pedestrians, improving the quality of road traffic, informing the city and giving voice to those citizens , who, despite having sought dialogue with the Municipality, even with communication via PEC to the Palazzo di Città protocol, were ignored and never received any response. Requesting the restoration of the damaged road surface, the construction of a sidewalk and the works to avoid infiltrations is nothing other than an act of responsibility towards citizens and residents.
Freedom of speech, freedom of thought and freedom of the press are fundamental pillars of a healthy, functioning democracy. Using the press to raise issues of public interest is not only a right, but also a duty for those called to represent citizens.
Therefore, no more chatter. The municipal council intervenes promptly to resurface the road and create the sidewalk, in order to guarantee the safety and well-being of our fellow citizens.
Nobody will gag us, we will continue to use all means, including the press, to best represent the interests of the community.
