Perugia Calcio, Sciurpa ready to take over the club from Santopadre

The agreement with the Agency – The businessman Claudio Sciurpa, at the head of a group interested in purchasing Perugia Calcio, has launched a real ultimatum to the owner Massimiliano Santopadre. Days ago, in an interview, Sciurpa had set a deadline to start negotiations, a deadline which expired without any response from Santopadre. Despite this, Sciurpa says he is still willing to wait, as long as there is a real desire on the other side to start a negotiation.

In this delicate situation, writes Rai News, however, positive news arrives for the red and white club: thanks to the institution of the tax settlement, the company has agreed with the Revenue Agency on the reduction of approximately 60% of the accumulated debts, largely part during the pandemic period. This restructuring agreement, subject to approval by the Court, represents an important step not only for determining the value of the company, but also for possible revival prospects. In fact, the so-called “market block” is imposed, at least temporarily, on the clubs that participate in the debt restructuring, through the formula of the positive balance from the transfer operations of the players and the wages.

Meanwhile, under the guidance of Santopadre, Perugia Calcio has already prepared the paperwork for registration for the next Serie C championship, to be submitted by Tuesday together with a guarantee of 350 thousand euros. The change of ownership, at least for the moment, can wait, while the company focuses on the next racing season.
