The city and its young talents were protagonists in Reggio Calabria on 25 and 26 May at the “Pino Labbate” track on the occasion of the Federal Regional Championships. To participate theASD Artistic Skating Infinity Crotone with 23 girls from Crotone in the First Steps and Young Promises categories of figure skating out of a total of over 100 registered.
In total, ASD Artistic Skating Infinity Crotone brought home 17 medals including 7 first places, 6 second places and 4 third places. It was the first participation of the city of Crotone in the federal Regional Artistic Skating Championships with the ASD Artistic Skating Infinity Crotone which joined the respective federation starting from this year.
Just eight months after opening in the city, the ASD has already participated in this important event, achieving prestigious results. But where did this new, young Crotone reality come from? Talking about it is Daniela Rotondo of the ASD Infinity Crotone Artistic Skating.
«Our school opened in October and this one in Reggio Calabria represented our first participation. We have only recently opened but we have already taken part in a regional event.” Two days of competition which saw the athletes distinguish themselves with merit. «On May 25th the girls in the First Steps category competed, while the following day the girls in the Young Promises category competed».
There is great satisfaction for the ASD Artistic Skating Infinity Crotone at the end of the two days in Reggio Calabria.
«These results certainly exceeded our expectations – underlines Daniela Rotondo -, being at the debut it was not easy to face this type of commitments. We competed against clubs that have been active in the world of skating for over 40 years such as those of Lamezia Terme and Reggio Calabria.”
The invitation remains to see young people become passionate about this discipline.
“It would certainly be a good sign.”
In the next few days there will also be an appointment in the city, it will be the end of the year concert.
«We are about to face this experience which will take place on June 23rd. Entry will be free and we hope that as many fellow citizens as possible can participate. In these days we are concluding the agreement to host this essay at the IPSIA Institute in Crotone”.
