Lucanian Emotions: a success in Sorrento!

The event, organized by the Basilicata Region in collaboration with the Sorrento Foundation, had the aim of promoting the food and wine, cultural and tourist excellences of Basilicata in a suggestive context such as that of the Sorrento peninsula.

A program full of events

The event program was full of events, including:

  • Tastings of typical Lucanian products: visitors were able to taste the best food and wine products of Basilicata, from cheeses to cured meats, from wines to extra virgin olive oil.
  • Musical and theatrical performances: artists from Lucania and Campania performed, with traditional music and dances.
  • Cultural meetings and workshops: meetings were organized with experts in Lucanian culture, history and tradition, as well as workshops to learn how to make typical artisan products.
  • Fashion shows: the collections of some of the most important Lucanian designers were presented.

A great success with the public

The event was a great success with the public, with thousands of visitors flocking to Villa Fiorentino over the three days of the event.

“We are very satisfied with the success of this event,” declared the tourism councilor of the Basilicata Region. “This event demonstrated that Basilicata has a lot to offer tourists, not only from a landscape point of view but also from a food and wine and cultural point of view. We are convinced that this is only the beginning of a path to enhance and promote our territory.”

An opportunity to strengthen ties between Basilicata and Campania

“Emozioni Lucane” was also an opportunity to strengthen the ties between Basilicata and Campania. The two regions, united by a common history and culture, collaborated to create an event that highlighted their mutual excellence.

“We are happy to have collaborated with the Basilicata Region to organize this event,” declared the president of the Sorrento Foundation. “We are convinced that this is only the first step of a fruitful collaboration between our two regions.”
