TREVISO – Republic Day celebrations, today 2 June, in Treviso. A morning that began with the flag raising ceremony and the military parade of the police and other citizen bodies, with the firefighters who unfurled the tricolor, lowering the flag from Palazzo dei Trecento. All the authorities were present: the mayor of Treviso Mario Conte, the prefect Angelo Sidoti, the president of the province Stefano Marcon. «On June 2, 78 years ago, an Italy was founded on the values of work, family, pacifism and anti-fascism. On this day we remember in particular the fundamental contribution of women such as Tina Anselmi and Lorenza Carlassare.” Also reiterated in the various speeches was the commitment to addressing issues such as youth hardship, feminicides, deaths at work, protection of migrants, security and the fight against crime, as well as the founding values of freedom, equality and solidarity.
