An overwhelming Entella played a sensational semi-final and by scoring 6 goals against Avellino they secured the final in Fermo even if obviously the 90 minutes of the return match next Sunday at the Daneri in Caperana still remain to be played. A match that began on the edge of balance with the sly Entella and the aggressive Avellino up front despite the most dangerous actions in the first half being those of Entella. following two restarts, first De Rosa and then Venturini wasted as many opportunities. The right one arrives on the half hour mark with De Rosa who crosses for Venturini who finds the right opening on a turn from the center of the area. At the start of the second half the hosts changed their formation but Entella kept their concentration high and immediately struck again with a cross from De Rosa this time for Grasso who headed the ball into the corner. Avellino struggles to become dangerous, Entella manages the match as best as possible until the 80th minute when Badini, author of a great performance, intervenes foully to obtain the penalty that closes the gap. The Irpinians believe it but Entella strikes again, Croce as soon as he comes in collects a nice cross from the left from Rovegno, who had also been on the pitch for two minutes, and re-establishes the double advantage. At this point Avellino collapses and Entella towers over, finding the way to the goal 3 more times: Agostino Grasso takes the lead and first turns a valuable cross from Demme with precision with the inside left, then scores a real Eurogoal on a cross from the right by Croce put into the net with a scissors kick that brought applause. In full injury time the 6th seal is put by Venturini who steals the ball in midfield and flies to the top of the area from which with a precise diagonal he beats the Campania goalkeeper again. A victory which obviously gives us hope for the return match but which above all highlights a great leap in maturity from Scotto’s boys who are increasingly aware of their value and of being close to the final finish line.
