With a view to intensifying the prevention and control activity of the territory, the Police Commissioner of Savona has issued a “Prohibition of access to urban areas” (DACUR), also known as “Daspo Urbano”, which was notified in recent days by the policemen of the Anti-Crime Division of the Savona Police Headquarters.

The provision, notified to a twenty-four year old with a criminal record, already the recipient of a return ban in the Municipality of Savona and in the Municipality of Albissola Marina, provides for a two-year ban on access to a bakery in Albisola Superiore where, last April , had been stopped by a Carabinieri patrol after having attacked the clerk and damaged the counter of the restaurant and having been reported to the AG for personal injury, refusal to provide his personal details, contempt and resistance to a Public Official. Not only will he be banned from accessing the bakery but for two years he will not be able to access bars, cafes, wine bars, bathing establishments, pizzerias or any other places where food and drinks are served, in the Albisola Superiore area where the place is located.

This type of measure, DACUR or Urban Daspo, (ban on access to urban areas) is a prevention measure issued by the Police Commissioner, used to prevent those responsible for serious acts from frequenting certain areas of the city. The perpetrator can be expelled for a period of up to two years, not only from a specific place or public establishment, but also from an entire area. In the most serious cases, where the perpetrator is arrested, the Police Commissioner – in relation to the gravity of the crime committed – can prevent the recipient from accessing public establishments and places of public entertainment in a specific area of the city or even from the entire province. The perpetrator of the harassing conduct can thus be removed from certain urban areas for a period of up to two years.
