Varese commemorates the 78th anniversary of the Republic with a solemn ceremony and the awarding of deserving citizens, including Francesco Paolo Milana, awarded the Silver Medal for Civil Valor
In a suggestive atmosphere, the Republic Square to Varese has been transformed into a real parade ground, welcoming police forces, Fire fighters, Red Cross, mayors And administrators waiting for the greeting of the prefect Salvatore Pasquariello.
The Prefect read the message from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella to celebrate the occasion, preceded by the raising of the flag at the War Memorial.
Subsequently, the celebrations moved to the tensile structure of the Estensi Gardenswhere Professor Antonio Orecchia ofUniversity of Insubria held a historical speech on the theme “From Monarchy to Republic”. Following, the delivery of the honors for the “Merit of the Italian Republic” and the “Silver Medal for Civil Valor” paid homage to deserving citizens of the province of Vareserecognized for their commitment to promoting civil and cultural progress, social cohesion, volunteering and the protection of the territory.
Among those awarded, personalities of great commitment and dedication stand out, such as Sergio Ferrario and Martino Pirone, awarded the rank of Commander, and Pierfrancesco Buchi, Luigi Colombo, Danilo Francesco Guerini Rocco and Pier Maria Morresi, appointed Officers. The rank of Knight has been conferred on numerous citizens, including Marco Bacchi, Maria Caccia Dominioni, and Giovanni Colombo. Finally, Francesco Paolo Milana received the prestigious Silver Medal for Civil Valor, in recognition of his courage and dedication.
