The 78th anniversary of the birth of the Republic was also celebrated in Salerno. In Piazza Amendola the protagonists were the students. In fact, the Prefect of Salerno, Francesco Esposito, wanted them to represent this day. They are the students of the schools of the city of Salerno who participated in the project, promoted by the Prefecture of Salerno, “Let’s live the Constitution”. The students of the “Sabatini Menna” artistic high school in Salerno, accompanied by the principal Renata Florimonte, staged a flash mob on the Italian tricolor; the students of the “Roberto Virtuoso” State Hotel Professional Institute of Salerno, accompanied by the principal Ornella Pellegrino, interpreting our founding fathers, revived the debate carried out within the work of the Constituent Assembly on articles 1, 3 and 9; the students of the “Francesco De Sanctis” state classical and scientific high school in Salerno, accompanied by the principal Cinzia Lucia Guida, exposed and illustrated the panels, created by the students, which depict some articles of our Constitution. The young students of the “Rita Levi–Montalcini” State Comprehensive Institute of Salerno also participated, accompanied by the principal Angela Di Donato, with a piece dedicated to the Constitution, written by them. The event was enlivened by the presence of the wind orchestra of the “Teresa Confalonieri” Institute of Higher Education in Campagna, directed by maestro Luciano Marchetta. The celebrations then continued at the “Teatro Verdi” in Salerno, where the Prefect presented the honors “to the merit of the Italian Republic”, granted by the President of the Republic to citizens of this province. For the occasion the Gibboni family performed: Annastella with a Paolo De Barbieri violin Genoa 1942; Donatella with a violin Niccolò Amati Cremona 1645; Giuseppe with a violin Antonio Stradivari Jupiter Cremona 1722.
