The work of intensifying the institution’s services implemented by the Institute continues Provincial Command of Potenza and carried out through the use of the soldiers of the dependent companies widely distributed throughout the territory.
In the last two days, the Carabinieri of the Viggiano Company have carried out an extraordinary control service of the territory aimed at the prevention and repression of crimes in general and, specifically, of traffic and drug violations.
In this context, the presence and supervision on municipal streets, along state roads and in places where young people gather was strengthened in order to guarantee compliance with the law.
During the aforementioned institutional activities, the soldiers of the Carabinieri took steps to report in a state of freedom:
– For driving under the influence of alcohol, a 33-year-old and a 26-year-old, both Italian citizens, who, subjected to testing with a breathalyzer, were found to be in a clear state of psycho-physical alteration due to the intake of alcoholic beverages (blood alcohol level 1.17 g/l for the first and 0.57 g/l for The second one).
It was for both the driving license was withdrawn and the vehicle was seized for subsequent confiscation;
– for various reasons, for use of a false document and illegal residence on the national territory, two Georgian citizens, domiciled in Naples.
The first was caught driving with a license that does not conform to the original one and without any title that justified its presence on national territory. The second, a passenger, was also without documents justifying his presence in Italy;
- for use of a false document, a Senegalese resident in the province of Salerno, caught driving a vehicle with a license that does not conform to the original;
- for receiving stolen goods, a 47-year-old Italian who, following a search of his garage used as a car repair shop, was found in possession of four dismantled engine blocks, of dubious origin, without justifying their possession;
- for failure to report, an elderly man who had not communicated to the relevant bodies the transfer of a rifle regularly held by the old man to the new home. The weapon was seized and, at the same time, the proposal to ban the possession of weapons was put forward.
The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Viggiano Company also reported to the Prefecture of Potenza, as users of narcotic substances, two young people who respectively held a dose of cocaine and 23 grams of marijuana.
During the service they were overall 65 vehicles and 4 public businesses were checked and 87 people were identified.
For all of the above-mentioned, naturally, the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction is reached.
The ordinary and extraordinary territorial control activity will continue on the vast territory of Potenza where, through the use of the soldiers of the Provincial Command of Potenza, the Carabinieri, in the numerous centres, guarantees constant commitment and attention in prevention and repression of any form of illegality.
