Cosenza, drugs and cartridges in the house discovered by the dog Digos
In recent days, State Police personnel have carried out, as part of the extraordinary services ordered by the Police Commissioner of the Province of Cosenza, Dr. Giuseppe Cannizzaro and coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, various checks in the city, aimed at combating drug trafficking.
During these services, a person was arrested by the policemen of the Flying Squad and the UPGSP police units, with the collaboration of the Northern Calabria Crime Prevention Department and the dog unit of the Vibo Valentia Police Headquarters, as they were found in possession of a narcotic substance of the type marijuana, hashish, material instrumental to trafficking as well as illegally possessed ammunition.
In particular, the police carried out checks in the Vagliolise district, at some low-cost and popular housing complexes.
In this context, the scent of the police dog “Digos” signaled interest in a specific apartment. Access to the house allowed the discovery of a narcotic substance of the marijuana type, for a total of 208 grams, of the hashish type for a total of 4.30 grams, as well as a precision electronic scale. Furthermore, three cartridges for common firearms and four hunting cartridges were found, ammunition held by the man without the required authorizations.
Once the ritual formalities were completed, the man was subjected to the measure of house arrest.
All this is communicated in compliance with the rights of the suspects (to be considered presumed innocent in consideration of the current phase of the proceedings until a definitive finding of guilt with an irrevocable sentence) in order to guarantee the right to freedom of the press.
