Deplorable sloppiness and lack of respect for the memory of the Bonomo family
Little respect for our history, especially when it offends the memory of those who did so much for our community.

“This recent deplorable initiative carried out at the entrance to the Pediatrics department, immediately under a plaque recalling that that pavilion (ground floor and four floors) with all the equipment existing there was donated by the “Bonomo” family to the Andria Hospital. Example of sloppiness and absolute lack of respect for the memory of the past. Clear demonstration of the cultural desert that surrounds us.” This is the harsh comment of Riccardo Bonomo, nephew of our illustrious fellow citizen, the medical general, belonging to the family to which the hospital of the Città Fidelis is named. A rather inappropriate passage, created in an imprudent manner, without taking due account of the historic commemorative plaque.

This is not the first “rudeness” that has been directed at our illustrious fellow citizen and great benefactor. The painting that portrays him in uniform has been positioned for some time in the corridor of the health management, half hidden by one of the many wardrobes that adore that corridor “of lost steps”. Just some time ago another notable “lack of respect” was pointed out, with which the bust of the medical general, “guarded, abandoned” and cordoned off under a green cloth at the entrance, awaiting a location, perhaps in the new hospital which who knows will never arrive and when!!!!.
