Giada feared sexual blackmail from her partner

Private photos and videos, the fear of being poisoned. Lately Giada had been living in fear. The Flying Squad investigators seized the smartphone of Andrea Favero, partner of Giada Zanola, a 33-year-old originally from San Zeno Naviglio who died when she fell from an overpass on the A4 motorway.

In the last few hours it has emerged that the victim feared that the man – with whom he lived in Vigonza, in the Padua area – could disclose photographic material and videos taken in moments of intimacy. This is why the Prosecutor’s Office, made aware of this eventuality, will entrust a consultancy to an IT technician, who will have to analyze in detail the material stored in Favero’s phone.

The agents became aware of this possibility thanks to a friend of Giada’s, who spoke of the young mother’s concrete fears: she feared sexual blackmail from her boyfriend, as he had in his possession material concerning her privately. If the man’s smartphone is now under the magnifying glass of the technicians, the victim’s has disappeared. The most accepted hypothesis is that, in the flight from the overpass, he was destroyed, but – for obvious reasons – it cannot even be ruled out that the perpetrator of the crime made him disappear.

The fear of being poisoned

The hot videos weren’t Giada’s only nightmare. When talking to a friend of hers, she seems to have confided her fear that Andrea could poison her: that is, that she could make her take poisons, medicines or drugs, to slowly kill her. This information was collected by investigators after having spoken to both the victim’s trusted friends and the new man with whom she – for some time – had started a relationship. A true love, the possibility of a new beginning: in fact, it seems that Giada was ready to leave her role as a sales assistant to go to work in a fuel station in Vigonovo, in the province of Venice, where she could be closer to her current company.

At the moment, however, investigators are not saying anything, leaving multiple hypotheses open. From an initial external examination of Giada’s body, no signs of a beating or injuries compatible with an assault emerged. Only some marks were highlighted on her neck, which, it seems, the young woman had already reported having suffered a few days before her crime: with some photos of her, she had shown them to her best friend.
