It continues with the VI edition of the “San Lorenzo di Montenero” Competition, organized in close collaboration with the “Francesco Morlacchi” Conservatory of Music of Perugia and reserved for piano students of the Institution carefully selected within the Conservatory itself, the The commitment of the Perugia Musica Classica ONLUS Foundation in favor of young musical talents in the Umbrian territory.

Hosted as always in the suggestive villa of the same name in the Perugian area, the selection of the finalists will be held on Monday 3 June at 6pm, who will perform in front of the jury composed of Luigi Ciuffa, director of the Conservatory, Enrico Bronzi, artistic director of the Perugia Musica Classica ONLUS Foundation, and by the pianist Andre’ Gallo, teacher and deputy director of the International Academy of Imola. Thus it will be the turn of the pianists Edoardo Riganti Fulginei, Martino Rossi, Alessio Pedini, Fulvio Nicolosi, Massimiliano Soriente and Marco Gioia.

The event on Monday 3 June is open to the public (info and tickets: perugiamusicaclassica.com) as is the winners’ concert, scheduled for Sunday 9 June 2024, at 6pm).

Born in 2018 on the initiative of Giovanni Barcaccia, a great music enthusiast and historic subscriber of the Friends of Music of Perugia, who provides both generous financial support and his splendid home, in previous editions the competition was won by Na Qu (piano), Sayako Obori (violin) and John Meshreky (cello) in 2018, followed in 2019 by the soprano Risa Minakata and the pianist Liù Kang, in 2021 by the pianist Alessandro Mennini, in 2022 by the baritone Matteo Mencarelli and in 2023 by the duo formed by Francesca Panzolini, flute, and Alessio Sinagra, piano.
