Bagheria Carabinieri at school, teachers for a day

An exciting day for the students of the “Giuseppe Bagnera” Elementary School, who welcomed the Carabinieri of the Bagheria Company. Led by Major Francesco Battaglia and Lieutenant Vincenzo Ruggieri, the soldiers reciprocated the visit that the children had made to the barracks during the 2023/2024 school year.

The event, which took place in the school courtyard, saw the Carabinieri present themselves with an impressive array of vehicles: Alfa Giulia and motorcycles from the Radiomobile Section, Jeep Renegade from the Station, Anti-sabotage bomb squad from Palermo with a robot, and the Dog Unit accompanied by the shepherd German “Blade”.

The meeting was organized in two shifts: the first for first and second year students, and the second for third, fourth and fifth year students. The students, accompanied by their teachers, had the opportunity to ask questions to the soldiers and learn about the various departments of the force. The children climbed into cars and motorcycles and interacted with “Blade,” the German shepherd.

The morning, the result of a close collaboration between the local Army and the school director Caterina Oliveri, together with the teacher Francesca Antieri, project coordinator, consolidated the relationships between the Carabinieri and the local schools. In recent years, the Carabinieri have held numerous conferences on crucial topics such as bullying, cyberbullying, the conscious use of social media, gender violence and mafia culture, underlining the importance of collaboration between educational institutions to promote growth based on justice and respect. This commitment has made the School-Carabinieri combination particularly significant for the community.
