Soon in the historic center of Rossano it will be possible to graduate in Interpreting and Translation (LM-94). Conservatory courses in the historic center of Corigliano will be active from the next academic year.
Not only urban regeneration and the creation of primary works, necessary after decades of poor maintenance of the territory, but also regeneration and cultural “infrastructures”.
In recent months, the Stasi administration has achieved two primary objectives for university education, signing two very high profile memoranda of understanding which will serve to establish the first university courses in the city.
This is the detachment of the Cosenza Conservatory of Music which, as is now known, will be located in the historic center of Corigliano, or in the Valente complex, and has now defined almost every detail of the agreement for the activation of higher education courses established thanks to the partnership with the Institute for linguistic mediators of social sciences, in premises already identified in the historic center of Rossano, where the School for linguistic mediators Città di Corigliano-Rossano will be established, the first higher education institute in the city together with the branch office of the conservatory.
This is the start of a higher education course in the city which will not only prepare good linguistic mediators, good interpreters and translators with the activation of the master’s degree course in Interpreting and Translation (LM-94), but also real Exports managers who will be able to easily fit into the world of economic sciences, applied psychology and communication. In addition to the two annual professional master’s degrees, the agreement between the Municipality and the Institute provides, in partnership with the Higher School of Linguistic Mediators of Salerno, two specialization courses lasting six months each in “Management and Marketing of Tourism” and Linguistic Mediation, Italian Discovery of Made in Italy and Italian Cultural Heritage”. To these are added, again in collaboration with the SSML of Salerno, seminars, summer schools, winter schools and workshops on specific areas of language study and Made in Italy. All activities will also be preparatory to the recognition of the Imelss Campus Foundation, as a linguistic training and certification centre, with the activation of Italian language courses for foreigners (Cert.it certificates) with the University of Roma Tre.
The protocol signed by the Conservatory of Music of Cosenza and the Municipality of Corigliano-Rossano, however, has already been presented in recent days. And so starting from the next academic year, 2024/2025, it will be possible to attend the preparatory courses which will be activated at the Corigliano Rossano headquarters, in the Valente complex in the historic center of Corigliano, functional to the establishment of a branch office.
All this represents only the first step of a university education path that the Stasi administration, not surprisingly, has planned in the historic centres. The conservatory and the Imelss Campus of Corigliano Rossano represent an unprecedented artistic-cultural offer and at the same time a further opportunity to re-evaluate our ancient villages which will thus also be able to welcome students in the coming years. A work clearly still in progress because the objective is to activate other specific degree courses aimed at enhancing the tourist, productive and naturalistic vocations of our land.
These are facts corroborated by documents, the electoral promises, the same for 40 years, we leave them to others.
