A 34-year-old woman is under investigation for blackmailing a priest she met on a dating site. Yesterday 31 May, the woman had her arrest validated by the investigating judge of Pavia, who released her from prison and sent her to trial, with the obligation to sign five times a week. The first hearing is set for October 22. The 34-year-old and the priest of a parish in Pavia had their first contacts a month ago, writes the Pavese Province. They found each other on Bakeka dating and started chatting. It would have been the priest who was the most insistent in sending messages, until the woman reacted: «You have to stop harassing me. You’re annoying me, do you want to understand?”. For her part, the priest explained that he did not realize he had annoyed her, apologized and promised that they would never speak again.

The temptation to resume those conversations, however, was too strong for the priest, who immediately began writing to the 34-year-old again. At that point the woman started to blackmail him, demanding 500 euros for the trouble. The priest also paid. But the requests are not fake there: «You have to give me another 500 euros for a friend of mine who knows everything. If I don’t see the money they’ll spit you on Facebook and I’ll cover the city with your photographs.”
With the police on the second date
Faced with those requests which had now become real blackmail, the priest decided to report the woman. At the second appointment, the priest was accompanied by plainclothes Flying Squad agents. And when the money was delivered, the officers intervened and took the 34-year-old to the police station.
