Brescia for Charity: the beating heart of solidarity

The first edition of Brescia for Charity is drawing to a close, the initiative promoted by the Rotary Club Sud Ovest Maclodio which aims to support local charities through the creation of a solid network of companies, entrepreneurs, institutions and private donors. And it does so with a great event that will take place Thursday 6 June from 9.00 pm Loggia Squaresymbol of the city and its spirit of solidarity which represents the true objective of this journey, which began on May 1st on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Rotary Club Sud Ovest Maclodio.

The project: the first link in a long beneficial chain

Brescia for Charity represents a unique example of synergy between companies, entrepreneurs, institutions and citizens. A charitable operation guided by an exceptional commonality of intent, oriented towards supporting the territory and the third sector bodies that operate there. Through a dense and varied calendar of events spread over six weeks, the event aims to catalyze the solidarity of citizens, in order to collect donations intended for 10 charities who work in contact with people living in social conditions of poverty, hardship or difficulty.
Promoted by Rotary Club South West Maclodio on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its foundation, with the collaboration of Municipality of Brescia and the organizational partnership of WISE Groupthe initiative also has a second important objective: the institutional sharing of a real model of collaboration in the area, which can become a matrix that can be replicated in other cities and give life to a chain of solidarity extended to the entire Peninsula.
Within this virtuous network, citizens have the opportunity to actively contribute to the objective by participating in the fundraiser, which for the first edition of the project has set a target of 250 thousand euros. To do so, they can make a free donation via the Brescia for Charity website, choosing from the different donation methods available.

The final show: a show for the eyes, a caress for the heart

It will be a great collective celebration that will officially close the first edition of Brescia for Charity on June 6th. An unmissable event that starting from 9.00 pm will involve citizens through dance performances, musical performances, shows by comedians and artists known to the general public.
On the stage set up in Piazza della Loggia, the TikToker from Brescia Mattia Stanga, already presenter of the last edition of the Prima Festival of Sanremo, will host the event which will see alternating well-known artists and special guests who, in turn, have embraced the project, actively contributing to it. Between these Gianluca Fubelliknown by his stage name “Spark“, actor and comedian made famous by the TV program Colorado; Paolo Migone, comedian and cabaret artist known for his participation in Zelig; And Vincenzo Regis, comedian and entertainer who was able to win over the public with his ironic videos and his parodies of everyday life. Among the musicians will be present Saturninusconsidered one of the best bass players in the world; Andrea Castathe most famous Italian electric violinist in the world; Deborah Iuratowinner of the thirteenth edition of “Amici di Maria De Filippi” in 2014. And again Manuel Ciancarelli, Daniel Posniak and the FromFamily Dance & Artsa dance school specializing in street and commercial styles, ranging from stiletto heels to street jazz, popping, breakdancing and acrobatics.

The real protagonists: the beneficiary associations

The 2024 edition of Brescia for Charity has chosen to donate the proceeds of the initiative to 10 charities, true pillars of solidarity in the Brescia area. 1000 Steps to Brescia organizes a non-competitive race through the streets of the city every year for charitable purposes; AIL Brescia (Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma) is a non-profit voluntary association that aims to create a community sensitized about haematological diseases; Objective Smile Association was born in 2010 with the aim of bringing a smile back to those who have forgotten it, working above all in associations, retirement homes and hospital departments; Bresp is committed to strengthening Pneumology in Brescia, dedicating itself to raising funds to promote the treatment of respiratory diseases; Carolina Zani Melanoma Foundation ETS supports those fighting melanoma, offering active support and assistance in research, prevention and treatment; White Cross of Bresciaa fundamental point of reference for the community; ANT Foundation provides free home care for cancer patients; Nadia Toffa Foundationcreated by the family of the young journalist who passed away in 2019, promotes the collection of funds for research into the treatment of cancer and other diseases; La Zebra Onlus over the years it has dedicated itself to important pediatric projects; In the end Via Eticawhose mission extends to developing countries including Kenya, Togo and Madagascar, maintaining strong ties with Brescia.
