On Thursday 30 May, at the Teatro del Buon Pastore, there will be a presentation of the book “Rain for the Bastards of Pizzofalcone”, the latest work by the famous mystery writer and screenwriter Maurizio De Giovanni. The author chose to return to Caserta to meet the students of the “Manzoni” high school and share his latest literary effort with them.

The novel takes the “Bastardi” to Pisa, involving them in a strange investigation without motive. The leitmotif of the story is an apparently incomprehensible murder, that of a famous lawyer, which turns into a mystery difficult to solve in a city hit by rain with symbolic and almost cathartic contours.

The event will begin with institutional greetings from the Headmaster Adele Vairo and the Mayor of Caserta Carlo Marino. The journalist Maria Laura Labriola will moderate the meeting, which will be enriched by a reading by the actors Antonio Bonagura and Joe Nicodemo.

The meeting is open to all citizens, upon reservation, and enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Caserta. The organization is the result of synergistic collaboration with the Rotary Club Caserta “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the Inner Wheel Caserta “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the Rotaract Caserta “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the association “Quercus Vitae” and the BOZ-Produzioni Association Artistic.

However, the real protagonists of this evening will be the Manzonian students, who will have the opportunity to interact with Maurizio De Giovanni and discuss issues such as justice, revenge, truth and the complexity of the human soul. These are all deep and significant questions that permeate the novel “Rain for the Bastards of Pizzofalcone”.

“Welcoming Maurizio De Giovanni again – an internationally successful writer, but also a ‘friend’ of the Manzoni Campus – is a source of great pride for us”, stated the Headmaster Adele Vairo. “Culture is a fundamental element for the growth of our school community and offering our students the opportunity to interact with an author of such importance is a real privilege, which enhances our daily training commitment and enriches the educational path of the students. our young people.”
