‘Repression alone is not sufficient to guarantee acceptable levels of security’

Domabi marks the 164th anniversary of the foundation of the Modena Local Police Force. As per tradition, the ceremony will take place at the headquarters in via Galilei 165, in Modena, in which civil, military and religious authorities and volunteer associations who collaborate with the local police in participatory security activities will participate. Banners and representatives of the local police forces of the province will also be present.
The ceremony will start at 10 am with the deployment in the square in front of the Command in the presence of the Modena Banner and the Corps Banner; the mayor and the local police commander will then review the deployment.
After the speeches of the prefect Alessandra Camporota and the commander Roberto Riva Cambrino, praise will be delivered to the agents who worked particularly hard during 2023 and some certificates of gratitude from the Command.
On this occasion, the offices of the Command in via Galilei will remain closed throughout the morning with the exception of the Front office, while the offices in via Molza will close at 9 am.

Only in this way can freedom and security be the two sides of the same coin, that of sharing problems and solutions, to the benefit of the people of Modena. For this reason, on the occasion of the annual Local Police Festival, I want to reiterate my closeness to the women and men in uniform, to the managers and to the trade union organisations. If the people of Modena want it, together we will have to develop a great work at the service of our city. Thank you for your commitment and congratulations for the work you do every day on the streets, in controls and helping people: you are a decisive part of the life of this city.’
