TERAMO – It is yet another noble thought of a living memory of red and white football who goes by the name of Tonino Valbrunicolleague of Supergoal for years and will continue to be so in the future. In the “historical memories” he reports a character who was a true fan of the Devil, for years the driver par excellence of “his” of him and of “our” Teramo: his name was Gennaro Romans (you can see it in the cover photo). He writes THE mister:

I want to remember the driver of Teramo Calcio in the sixties, Angelo Romani. The historic role of driver in the football period of the red and white team was covered by him, the legendary Angelo, well known to the fans. He traveled miles and miles alongside his idols, of whom he became a friend and confidant.

For him it was a real assignment, of great responsibility. Obviously for us he was one of the group; many years spent together in hundreds of service stations, hotels, gaming facilities scattered throughout Italy… he created an extraordinary relationship with the technicians who followed one another over time; above all with Mario Tortul, former coach of Teramo in the sixties, former footballer for many years of Sampdoria, in Serie A, and also of the glorious shirt of the Italian national team.

Romani took Teramo Calcio around Italy, becoming a sort of talisman for all footballers of the time. The managers relied only on him for travel and we considered him a true integral part of the group. Red and white to the core, he lived some of the most intense moments in red and white football history. Once when reaching the Zaccheria stadium in Foggia, on a neutral pitch, against Andria, he ran a red light at a crossroads. Teramo won that match 4-0 and Tortul, from that day on, forced them to repeat the irregularity in subsequent matches. It may be a coincidence but the red and white team obtained an unexpected salvation.

How can we forget, then, the return match in the famous play-off in Termoli on 17 May 1964, when they won 1-0 with a goal from Bonanni. The red and white team was promoted to Serie D but left the locker room late at night, throwing stones at us all and at his bus…

A Teramo fan like Gennaro could only want that job to be close to his idols. Teramano with many adventurous memories, fate took him away too soon but he was able to leave the baton to his son Attilio, an extraordinary fan who inherited many kilometers of road travel like his father, because he moved to attend the Teramo Calcio matches from Alto Adige, where he lived for work reasons.

Dear Gennaro, I wanted to remind you because you deserved it, for your great and immoderate passion for Teramo Calcio. Thank you” – Antonio Valbruni –
