The Royal Savoy Residences are born – Piedmont Regional Directorate of National Museums, architect Filippo Masino was appointed at the helm

Filippo Masinoa newly appointed technical manager, selected by the Ministry of Culture through a competition course, took over the management of Royal Savoy residences – Regional Directorate of Piedmont National Museums, new museum institute wanted by the Ministry of Culture. It will take care of the five Savoy residences Palazzo Carignano, Villa of the Queen hey Castles of Moncalieri, Aglie And Tales and gods sites of Abbeys of Vezzolano And Fructuaryof the Gavi Fortof the Serralunga Castle and of Archaeological areas of Libarna, Industry And Augusta Bagiennorum.

Filippo Masino

Masino is architectwas trained in Polytechnic of Turin as an architectural historian and expert in cultural heritage, topics which he explored in depth as part of his doctorate in Architecture history and the master’s degree Economics of Cultural Heritage at the University of Roma Tre. He has taught in Architectural renovation at the Polytechnic of Turin and research in the Piedmont area, he added activity on international construction sites in Turkey, France and Spain. He began working in the Ministry in 2012 at the then Archaeological Superintendency of Piedmont, and then continued at the excavations of Pompeii and subsequently at the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Alessandria, Asti and Cuneo. Having arrived at the Royal Museums of Turin in 2018, he developed strategic projects, exhibitions and rearrangements of the collections, leading to the opening of the Archaeological Gallery to the public and taking care of the restoration of the baroque fortifications, the Roman theater and the early Christian basilica of San Salvatore, as well as promote exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art and youth creativity.
