Pisa is ready to change the sporting director again. He would be the fifth (sixth, also considering Kolarov’s quick spell) since the Corrado family took the helm of the Nerazzurri club. A number that shows how difficult it is regarding that specific role to be able to provide project continuity over time. Management continuity that Giovanni Corrado instead shows, solid in his role as general manager. The first to have this role in the new Pisa was Raffaele Ferrara (more correctly, responsible for the technical area). The collaboration with him ended on 12 June 2018, after a negative season in Serie C, but he was already able to outline the first points for what would be the diktat of the new club: for the first time in decades, Pisa stopped relying on loans, purchasing many cards and increasing the number of players owned. Roberto Gemmi followed in his place. The current director of Cosenza currently holds the record for the longest stay at the Nerazzurri in that role under the Corrados: 1078 days, from June 2018 to May 2021. With him came the promotion of ’19 and the arrivals of many players who have composed the historical bloc: De Vitis, Marconi, Caracciolo, Gori and, above all, Marin.

Two seasons of Serie B, no playoffs reached but an important consolidation, and farewell arrives with Gemmi. In his place, a challenge in the role: Claudio Chiellini will arrive in the summer of 2021. The transfer market conducted by the brother of the former captain of the national team and current technical director of Juventus Next Gen, shows the ambition of the club, deciding to focus on experts, such as Nagy and Nicolas, but also on young people with absolute prospects: Pietro Beruatto, Idrissa Touré and Lorenzo Lucca. The season ends by touching the dream, reaching the playoff final. The following season, however, was characterized by greater uncertainty and despair, but Pisa still managed to sign talents such as Tramoni and Morutan. Two years and Chiellini leaves. Kolarov initially arrives in his place, stopping just long enough to argue and take a step back, then Stefanelli. The former Cesena player arrives – not due to any demerits of his – with the transfer market already open. Despite this, Pisa closes for Arena, Barbieri, Veloso. In January, therefore, the exchange of excellent quality, for a Gliozzi who goes there is a Bonfanti who comes. After just one season, however, everything is ready for a new era.
