A few days ago it was announced that Carlo Conti he will be host and artistic director of the next two editions of the Sanremo Festival, after the signed four-year period Amadeus. This is a return for the presenter who had already hosted Sanremo for three editions, between 2015 and 2017.

This is certainly a choice destined to radically change the Italian music festival. For this reason ol Codacons, the consumer association has decided to launch an appeal to the new presenter, asking him to bring quality back to the Ariston stage.

We ask Conti to break with the past and move away as much as possible from the path traced by Amadeus – explains Codacons – Music must be brought back to the center of the event, because in recent years the choices that have affected the Festival have gone towards the only direction of guaranteeing the broadcast an audience of very young people and the attention of social networks, to the detriment of the quality of the songs in competition.

In this sense we ask Carlo Conti to establish a specific technical commission for the choice of songs for the next festivals, which takes into account the real value of the songs and the artists who perform them, and not the number of followers on social media or views on the web guaranteed by the singers, nor of their temporary fame linked to participation in singing talent shows.

Finally, given the serious problems regarding televoting and hidden advertising that have affected the last Festivals, Codacons asks Conti to provide for the participation of a representative of consumer associations in all phases of Sanremo, to guarantee transparency towards the public.
