Livorno, tender for the management of the football field in Banditella

Here is the attempt to regenerate, redevelop and modernize the “Busoni”: a tender for free management, indeed with a contribution of up to eight thousand euros per year, against an initial investment of at least 110 thousand euros. Many, as estimated by the Municipality in the tender notice, will be needed to bring the Banditella sports facility back to life which, to date, is in a terrible state. This is clearly stated in the technical sheet attached to the public notice for the identification of non-profit associations and sports clubs interested in the redevelopment and management of the football field, with attached structures compliant with the law, which can also be “exploited to organize any activities complementary compatibly with sporting and social purposes”. But which, at the moment, is in dilapidated conditions, as well documented by photos and videos just prior to the publication of the tender, the deadline for which is set for next 8 July.

The good news, apart from a few points, is only the fence and, net of the lack of care due to years of abandonment, the ground of the football field, which in any case is not bad. The rest is all rust, broken or non-existent doors, vandalized windows, changing rooms to be completely redone, illegal stalls to be demolished, irrigation, lighting and plumbing systems to be restored, grass to be cut, trees to be pruned and stands, although in good condition but not in accordance with regulations, to be dismantled. A shame for what had once been the Antignano pitch, a town more than a neighborhood and a team, and therefore of the very young people of Livorno, the academy of a club that today is going through one of the darkest periods of its 109 year history. And to think that, not too long ago (it was 2014) there was talk of an interest from Qatari sheiks ready to invest 2-3 million to make it a sports citadel. Complete with renderings that reached the civic palace. A dream, in the meantime it’s better to find some company ready to come up with at least 110 thousand euros starting from cutting the grass, restoring and modernizing all the rooms and maintaining the system. That would already be something.
