Exceptional tester for Qjmotor Factory Racing in the two days in Cremona. Raffaele De Rosa became a father in the last few hours and on this occasion the team called Ivan Goi for testing, already present on the Lombard circuit where he is practically at home. Qjmotor Factory Racing is making its debut in World Supersport this year and is struggling a lot as was widely expected. In Assen the SRK 800 RR reached a maximum speed of 241 kilometers per hour in race 1 and 240 km/h the following day while the other bikes had significantly higher speeds of 10/15 kilometers per hour. The power gap is notable and the team is working to narrow it. Clearly it takes time and patience.

“On Friday I only shot in the morning because it rained so we just made a few adjustments – Ivan Goi tells Corsedimoto – I had never used the motorbike. What is clear to everyone and mine too is the lack of power they have to find. You need power and reliability. At that point it will be possible to understand if the chassis they are using is still good or if it will go into crisis. In terms of chassis, the QJ doesn’t ride badly but we’ll have to see when there will be an increase in power.”

How much is the power gap?

Very consistent. I’m not talking about the Ducati V2 but also about its four-cylinder rivals. On the obverse (Cremona has a 950 meter straight, ed.) the Hondas were gradually disappearing from me. For a four-cylinder, it currently spins at just twelve thousand rpm, which is not enough to keep up with the competition. It should be noted that the most significant gap is not in maximum speed, but in acceleration. The Chinese technicians have an exceptional speed of intervention, they tell me that they have already approved new developments, but it also depends on the regulatory balancing system”.

How do you think this bike can improve?

In the World Championship at Misano they will race with the exact same configuration, then they could have regulatory aid provided by the Next Generation balancing system. When a more powerful engine arrives, we will be able to make a more in-depth judgment on the chassis. Two-three seconds left from the top, here in Cremona.”

At the moment Ivan Goi has only done this test and it is not yet known if and when he will be recalled. he is certainly a very experienced rider who still goes very fast. In an interview with Corsedimoto he confided his desire to participate in the Cremona race of the Supersport World Championship and who knows whether he might be called up by Qjmotor Factory Racing.

I’d like to challenge myself again, at 44, and I think I could be very fast on this circuit that I know like the back of my hand. However, showing up with a motorbike and my own team is impractical, for budget and registration reasons. The only possibility would be to make a substitution, or race with the additional bike of an already registered team. I hope so..”
