All ready for thirteenth edition of the Kalat Trophy, scheduled for Sunday (26 May) in Caltanissetta. The demonstration, organized by the Track Club Master of Caltanissettais valid as sixth round of the Sicily Grand Prix road racing and as the fourth round of the provincial GP of Caltanissetta and Enna. Also for this edition the program includes at the beginning the competitions reserved for seniors/masters, followed by the youth categories. The 10 kilometer event is part of the FIDAL national calendar, “Bronze” level, and is World Athletics certified. The event enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Caltanissetta and Coni, and the collaboration with Fidas (Blood Donor Association) and the social cooperative Gaia, which sponsors youth competitions, as part of the Educare Insieme project.

In total there are 355 members (78 women and 277 men). The largest category is the SM60 with 38 athletes at the start, followed by the SM55 with 35 and the SM45 with 34 athletes present. In the women’s category, the most represented category is the SF50 with 14 athletes, followed by the SF45 and SF60 both with eight. Among the youngest, M10 Rookies, Male Cadets and Girls boast the largest categoriesAnd. The youngest in the race are Federico Augello and Paola Filecciaboth are seven years old. The older ones are Antonino Piscitello80 years old in Februaryand Grazia Tini, born in 1957. Sixty companies were present in Caltanissetta: the largest is the Corri Serradifalco with 27 registered athletes, followed by Marathon Caltanissetta (26), Universitas Palermo (22), Track Club Master Caltanissetta (20), Walkers Runners Canicattì (19), Atletica Bellia, Mega Hobby Sport and Trinacria Palermo with 11, Conca d’Oro Sicilia and Talin Club Nicosia with 9, Atletica Mazzarino, Amatori Regalbuto and Atletica Virtus Acireale with 8, gradually all the others.

Departure is scheduled for 9am from Viale della Regione, via Calabria, piazza Europa, via Rosso di San Secondo, viale Conte Testasecca, corso Vittorio Emanuele, piazza Garibaldi, corso Umberto, via Maddalena Calafato, via Rosso di San Secondo, viale della Regione (arrival). The students will complete a 3.4 km lap. Three laps instead for Juniores M/F, Promesse M/F, Seniores M/F, Master M/F for the classic 10 km.
