It arrives on May 29, 2024 in Borgo Croce Musicarte, the exhibition with the works created by the students of the Boccioni-Fermi Institute of Reggio Calabria; the head teacher announced it enthusiastically Prof. Anna Maria Cama, there Prof. Annagrazia Calabrò (creator of the project), the Prof. Santa Ielo (inclusion coordinator) and the mayor of Fiumara Dr. Michele Filocamo.

After the “Hypogeum” archaeological site (with the precious and fundamental collaboration of the culture sector of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, in the persons of the resp. Dr. Loredana Paceof the official Pasquale Borrelloand with the extraordinary participation of the maestro Monteforte), the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria (with the precious collaboration of the Director of the museum Fabrizio Sudano and the director of the Conservatory Francesco Romano).

The project Musicarte confirms its universality with respect to the possible social, cultural and pedagogical implications, through the recognition received from the Ministry of Education and Merit, resulting among the first two projects at a national level selected as part of the MIM – ASviS Training Course “The Agenda what makes the School: scenarios, perspectives and tools for sustainable futures”. The project was illustrated to an audience of school managers and teachers by the Director Prof. Cama, supported by the contribution of Prof. Calabrò and Prof. Filippo Milli. During the conference, a speech was included by Dr. Fabrizio Sudano, director of the Museum, who, in connection from the Riace Bronzes room, highlighted his appreciation for the positive feedback that the project has obtained from young people pupils, managing to bring them closer to archaeological sites and the objectives of the 2030 agenda.

The event on May 29th was strongly supported by the Mayor of Fiumara Michele Filocamo and by the Deputy Mayor Pasquale Repaci, with the support of the President of the cultural association “Fiumara Eventi” Caterina Imerti, always attentive to educational and social initiatives aimed at enhancing the cultural and social growth of the Fiumara area, for the strong educational and social value that the exhibition contains.

The initiative is also part of a broader and more complex promotion and valorisation activity of Borgo Croce, implemented by the President of the Borgo Croce Cultural Association, Mariagrazia Chirico.

Thanks to her great love for the village where she was born and raised, to the precious collaboration of all the inhabitants and to the support of the Administration Municipality of Fiumaraa beautiful valorization project was created, making the village a destination for many visitors and the scene of cultural, artistic and musical events.

It is important to remember that Musicarte it’s a pedagogical project, artistic and musical,”open” that is, ready to give breathing space to all those initiatives, such as that of Borgo Crocewhich offer a space for growth for all students of the Institute “Boccioni Fermi“, young people who worked to create works created and inspired by the objectives of the 2030 agenda, in particular objective 4 aimed at “ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting continuous learning opportunities for all”.

The synergy between the initiative of Borgo Croce and the objectives of Musicartean art and music therapy laboratory that allows students to express their emotions to free themselves from emotional stress and be psychologically more relaxed and predisposed to learning.

In this context, the exhibition aims to be a place of reflection for teachers and professionals in the sector who wish to build an increasingly inclusive learning environment capable of involving not only the mind but also the heart.

Musicarte demonstrates how emotions influence educational action through an interdisciplinary perspective that feeds on psychology, neuroscience, pedagogy and philosophy.

As the Minister of Education and Merit also underlined, Giuseppe Valditaraduring his speech at the fourth stage of “Scuola Futura” in Alessandria “Music is something that shapes the soul of the citizen, stimulates sensitivity and creativity. It is wrong to marginalize it as has been done so far.” proposing to strengthen the presence of the study of music and art starting from primary school in order to spread interest in our society.
